Pornic
The town of Pornic, in the Loire-Atlantique region, is well known and appreciated by tourists attracted by its beautiful beaches. Things to do near Pornic station
Pornic station is extremely well located, on the left bank of the Haute Perche canal. The latter splits the town in two, in the immediate vicinity of downtown Pornic. Passengers waiting for their train can also stretch their legs and take advantage of the station’s close proximity to the city center to keep busy and explore the city.
The Ria botanical park is a 5-minute walk away
Travelers can relax and stroll through the Ria Botanical Park, just a five-minute walk from the station.
The Jardin de la Ria is a relaxing and soothing plant walk in a 13-hectare park. Visitors stroll through the park from west to east along 3 promenades.
First, there’s the Promenade along the quays, during which walkers simply enjoy the peaceful view over the Ria while skirting the path or passing over wooden pontoons.
Afterwards, strollers can take a stroll along the Relais botanique and its islands. This walk takes you through rice paddies lined with camellias, a reminder of the Chinese landscape.
The third and final walk is along the river. Walkers are invited to rethink the beauty of the land-sea connection.
Pornic’s beaches
Pornic offers its visitors no fewer than twelve magnificent beaches. Whether they’re large stretches of fine sand or small, intimate beaches surrounded by rocks forming coves, each of Pornic’s beaches will seduce you. You’re sure to find your perfect beach.
Closer to Pornic itself, and therefore to the train station, is Plage de la Joselière, as well as the more intimate Plage de Birochère. A little further away, the beach at Les grandes Vallées opens up to visitors.
The Port of Pornic
Just a hundred meters from the station, Pornic’s mar ina is located in the Baie de Bourgneuf, at the entrance to the natural Ria, giving direct access to Pornic. The port of La Noëveillard is the perfect place for a quiet stroll along the ocean. Here, tourists can also enjoy a meal or a drink.
In addition, the Pornic marina offers boaters visiting Pornic a host of services to make their vacation as easy as possible.
